Getting started

Hover over the notation area to highlight time divisions and string slots. Click a string slot to select it — selected slots are shown with an outline. You can then enter a tsubo using the keyboard or palette. Click a time division outside a string slot to select the division only — this is needed for some techniques.

Changing the number of measures

Click anywhere on a staff unit to select it — the unit is outlined when selected. Then click Free, 2, 4, or 8 in the palette.

Changing barline types

Alt+click a barline to select it, then choose normal, repeat, or stop from the palette.

Suri and oshibachi

Select a string slot and press I for suri or O for oshibachi. A placeholder arc appears immediately. Enter the start and end tsubo in any order — the arc anchors to the start tsubo and extends to the nearest entered tsubo. Both tsubo must be in the same staff unit. To remove an arc, select the start tsubo slot and press Backspace, or use Clear in the palette.

Triplets

Select a time division and press T. Three consecutive divisions are grouped as a triplet and a bracket is drawn below the staff. The fourth division is disabled. To remove a triplet, select any active tsubo in the group and press T again, or press Backspace.

Selecting multiple divisions

Click and drag across time divisions to select a range, or shift-click to extend the selection. Use Copy and Paste in the palette to duplicate content. The selection must be within a single staff unit.

Selecting multiple staff units

Click and drag across staff units to select a range, or shift-click to extend the selection. Use Copy and Paste in the palette to duplicate the selected units.

Great staff

Select two or more adjacent staff units, then click the great staff button in the palette. A continuous barline is drawn connecting the units, indicating simultaneous parts. To remove, select any unit within the group and click the remove button.

Hiding units

Select a staff unit or lyric unit and click Hide in the palette. The unit becomes invisible but still occupies its space on the page. Click the unit's outline to select it again and click Show to make it visible. Works with multiple selected units.
